I joined Elenjical Solutions in January 2019. Prior to this, I worked as an Engineer-in-training at Eskom Transmission (Simmerpan) for one year and eleven months where I gained exposure in the various fields of the power utility industry. During my undergraduate years of study, I worked as a vacation student during breaks at Eskom. I am currently working as a Senior Murex Consultant at Elenjical Solutions managing two clients. For the Momentum Metropolitan Holdings client, I work as a Support Manager managing a team of 30 employees. For the Rand Merchant Bank client I am managing a project team of four. My responsibilities include business function support, cross functional support, system audit support and project management.
Managing a team of 30 employees for business function support (Infrastructure, FO, MO, BO, Collateral, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Testing and EOD). Stakeholder management to ensure a smooth cross functional support. Quarter-End Stress Testing. Audit (Providing system audit support as a value added service). Contributing to the client’s centralized knowledge base for proper documentation of IT governance and processes. Training new graduates that join the team to expand their Murex knowledge and increase competence. Training business users on MO, BO and Collateral Modules in Murex.
Support (Providing support in Back Office and Collateral for clients: RABOBANK, MPS, SEK, CREDEM, KBN, VARMA, MMI, PKO). Debugging client queries, writing articles and posting solutions (PEGA, SKP). Modifying and creating new workflow formulas (XSL, XSLF, XMLFBM, MXBOREPO). Defects (Identifying and logging defects, testing, backporting and delivering defect fixes to the client through patch deliveries).
FO (Updating Pricing Templates, debugging client queries). MO (Portfolio creation, updating historical prices, debugging fixings and reporting issues - SQL Oracle). BO (Verifying SSIs, verifying custodian contributions, debugging client queries). Pre-trade rules (MSL functions, lookup tables, workflow tasks). Purging DataMart tables to create space. User Admin and managing user groups rights. Utilization of the Onyx testing suite for testing purposes. Running End-of-Day batch using Tivoli scheduling tool and troubleshooting script failures. Mapping of instruments in Murex. Modifying and creating new workflow formulas (XSL, XSLF, XMLFBM, MXBOREPO). Modifying Bond Curves (Market Rate Sheets, Revaluation rate curves).
Fault detection, under-ground cables and overhead lines maintenance. Sub-station Operations and installation of mini substations. Testing and commissioning of electronic devices used in the transmission network. Automation of parameter calculations. Big Data Analysis and generating reports on power station performances.
